hook slayer

An apex predator that waits in complete silence before striking with its four razor-sharp hooks.

The Story

Feared throughout the deepest waters, Hook Slayer is a master of the ambush.

Remaining perfectly still among jagged rock formations, it waits for prey to wander close before launching its four powerful hooked limbs. Once trapped, very few creatures manage to break free.

The scars covering its hooks suggest that even the strongest predators think twice before challenging it.

Behind the Artwork

I got the inspiration for Hook Slayer from the game Subnautica because I wanted it to feel like a real apex predator. I added glowing parts to make it stand out in the dark, and I made the hooks different sizes so it didn't look too symmetrical. I also imagined its mouth glowing like it was about to fire a laser, and I added bumps along its body to give it even more texture.
