The Story

At first glance, Hollow Maw appears almost motionless.

Its enormous circular mouth remains open as it drifts through the deep, waiting for currents to carry prey directly into its powerful jaws. Once something enters its reach, escape becomes almost impossible.

Despite its fearsome appearance, Hollow Maw rarely hunts aggressively. It trusts the ocean to deliver its next meal.

Behind the Artwork

I got the inspiration for Hollow Maw from a picture I found while looking at deep-sea creatures. I made its body dark grey because some animals in the deep ocean are really dark, and I added bright blue so it would stand out. I also wanted it to look shiny and slippery, and I made its huge mouth the main feature because I thought that would make it look even scarier.
